Jillian Conner (she/her/hers) is a freelance copywriter living and working in N’dakina (now known as Vermont), the ancestral land of the Abenaki people.

I have 5+ years’ experience writing copy for small business’ newsletters, social media, blog posts, and webpages. I thrive in a sea of brand voices, conceptualizing creative strategy, and pushing boundaries. For your reference, my resume is here.

I also write a newsletter about my inner world. It’s called Haymaker.

Kinship Milk Tea

2023 - 2025

Caitlin Cash, founder of Austin-based Kinship Milk Tea, and I found each other by way of bikes. In addition to a delicious product, Caitlin’s beverage brand totes a wacky, sincere brand voice and some killer package design. From late 2023 to early 2025, we worked together to increase social media reach, draft some yet-to-be-published blog posts, and launch a newsletter via Klaviyo.

“Working with Jillian has been a game changer for Kinship. As a solo founder, it's sometimes difficult to learn to delegate and to trust someone to take over a share of your work, and Jillian fit in so seamlessly. I trust her to take a task and run with it.”

Junction Fiber Mill

2023 - Present

Amanda Kievet, Co-founder of Junction Fiber Mill

“Jillian does an amazing job as our copywriter. Her work consistently impresses us and greatly contributes to our online presence.”

I’ve worked with Junction Fiber Mill over the last two years to help their social media presence and email marketing efforts keep pace with their rapid growth. As their needs have changed, so has my work. I began working with them as a freelance social media manager and newsletter copywriter. These days, I curate and write their monthly “Postcard”, a personalized letter from the founders chronicling the mundane and relatable aspects of their lives. JFM has utilized both Mailchimp and Klaviyo.

Fern Creek Collective

2025

Eliza Buskey, an intuitive and energy worker based in Vermont, came to me seeking copywriting support for her new website. Together, we identified priorities and requisite information, clarified her voice, and pared it all down into digestible text. Eliza, wanting to be sure her most essential values were carried across, had ample access to the creative process as we volleyed the copy back and forth to each other. Copy written included her intro, her descriptions of services, FAQ questions and answers, and all headers.

“It felt as though Jillian had a window into my thoughts without me needing to express them. My work can evoke a sense of mystery and she immediately saw an opportunity for clarity and simplicity, motivating me to get really clear on what I wanted to relay to clients. There was such care and ease given to the process which was just what I needed while knee deep in my website build.”

Other past clients include Big Cartel, Vermont Soap, State14, and the Valley News.
